2022 Malbec
Description
VINEYARD. Red Tail Vineyard, Paso Robles. Estrella DistrictWINEMAKING. Malbec, a traditional component of classic Bordeaux blends, has demonstrated strong adaptability to warm-climate viticulture. This example is sourced exclusively from a single, small vineyard in the Estrella River Valley on the eastern side of Paso Robles, where higher daytime temperatures promote ripeness. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for 36 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, 50% of which were new, allowing for controlled oxygen integration, tannin development, and enhanced structural complexity.
TASTING
Aroma: Rich dark fruit notes of blackberry, red plum, rose petals, violets, wild berry, vanilla and a balsamic note leap from the glass.
Palate: Smooth, fruit forward wine, with balanced acidity, dark chocolate, toasted oak and moderate levels of tannins.
FOOD PAIRING. The perfect accompaniment to fire grilled meats with chimichurri sauce, empanadas, roasted leg of lamb, or your favorite burger with melted sharp cheddar.
