Description
VARIETALS. 94% Merlot from Cedar Lane Vineyard, & 6% Cabernet Sauvignon from Leslie’s Estate.WINEMAKING. The Cedar Lane Vineyard is nestled along the banks of the dried-out Arroyo Seco River. The coastal Monterey climate, with its cool foggy mornings and warm afternoons, allows the fruit to mature slowly, developing complex flavors while avoiding overripe notes. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 45% of which were new, this Merlot showcases natural dark red fruit and supple tannins, while the addition of Leslie’s Estate Cabernet adds depth, complexity, and elegance. The winemaking team carefully selected the top barrels for flavor and mouthfeel, resulting in a beautifully balanced and refined wine.
TASTING
Aroma: Lively and inviting, with ripe black cherry, plum, and black raspberry.
Palate: Bold yet refined, this elegant Merlot offers a harmonious balance of deep dark fruit, subtle minerality, and layered notes of toasted vanilla, clove, and cracked black pepper.
