Description
VINEYARDS. 57% Cabernet Sauvignon from Leslie’s Estate on Montebello Road and 37% Cabernet Sauvignon from Arastradero Road in Palo Alto, and 6% Petite Sirah from Machado Creek in Santa Clara.WINEMAKING. Vino Di Vicino translates to “Wine of the Neighborhood” in Italian, and the neighborhood around the Picchetti Winery is home to some of the most unique and inspiring vineyards on the planet. Each lot was aged separately in French oak (45% new barrels) for 12-months. This Bordeaux style wine is very approachable and gorgeous now, but can be held for a further 10-years.
TASTING.
Aroma: Enticing aromas of black cherry, cinnamon, and spicy notes reminiscent of a redwood forest. Subtle hints of maple and bay leaf add complexity.
Palate: Intensely flavorful with prominent dark fruits, including black currants, cocoa powder and a touch of bacon fat. A long and satisfying finish that lingers, showcasing the wine's depth and complexity.
FOOD PAIRING. Great pairing with seared lamb chops with rosemary and sage butter, dark chocolate, a hearty mushroom risotto, or beef wellington.
