Viognier (pronounded vee-on-Yay) traces its origin to the Rhône Valley of France. It is deep yellow-gold in color, with very small grape clusters that produce a tremendous concentration of flavors. This vintage was cold-fermented in stainless steel for 3-weeks, and then aged in neutral oak barrels without any additional malolactic fermentation. Honeyed citrus and delicate stone fruit aromas give way to a clean, crisp and balanced palate, with a touch of tangerine zest on the finish. To best appreciate the perfumed honeysuckle characteristics of this sophistocated wine, refrigerate and then allow it to warm up at room temperature for 20-minutes before serving. It pairs beautifully with lobster and other rich, buttery seafood dishes, and can also compliment smoky flavors, pungent salads and aged cheeses.
