2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Arastradero Vineyard
Santa Clara County
20 Barrels produced
This unique 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is our very first vintage from a small 1-acre parcel located right on the Stanford campus (adjacent to the School of Medicine). Powerful and dense in the glass, it opens with the vibrant scent of dark cherry and blackberry, subtly layered with warm notes of vanilla. The palate is explosively bright, with flourishes of olive tapenade, cocoa and cedar that provide nuance and continually shifting points of interest. It was barrel-aged in French oak (60% new barrels) creating velvety meshed tannins that make the wine lush yet structured. Exquisitely balanced with an attention-grabbing texture that expands and unfolds, it's the ideal complement to bitter-edged vegetables such as broccoli rabe, grilled radicchio and roasted brussel sprouts, roast lamb, pepper-crusted grilled tuna or Camembert cheese. Enjoy now through 2025. À votre santé!
