2007 Cabernet Sauvignon
Leslie's Estate
334 Cases Produced
2007 California Cabernet has been hailed "the Vintage of the Century " by the Wine Spectator, and this stunning full-bodied offering from our Estate vineyards will not disappoint. The vineyard is located high above the clouds atop Montebello Road, where it is exposed to high daytime temperatures and the overnight cooling effect of the maritime fog, which creates ideal growing conditions and guarantees full flavor development. The wine was barrel-aged for 48-months in French Oak (50% new), and has been blended with 2% Petit Verdot. Luscious and bold, with deep flavors of blackcurrant, cedar, cassis and a hint of shaved chocolate, this wine is the perfect accompaniment to Kobe-style beef, filet mignon or grilled portobello mushrooms. Beautifully balanced with well-structured tannins and an acid backbone, this vintage has enormous aging potential. It will give a great deal of pleasure now, but will continue to reward over the next 20 years or so. A wine of immense pedigree, this serves as evidence that Montebello is one of the World’s most dramatic Cabernet sites.
