2013 Pinot Noir Truchard Vineyards
20 Barrels produced
This single-vineyard vintage hails from Los Carneros, a region of Napa greatly influenced by marine-moderated temperatures, with a unique geographic alchemy that creates ideal growing conditions for the somewhat fickle Pinot Noir grape. Barrel-aged in French oak (40% new barrels) for 20-months, this smooth medium-bodied wine offers a tight focused beam of loamy earth, dried cherries, rhubarb and cigar box flavors, and is packed with aromas of cedar, cinnamon and vanilla. Firm acidity and delicate tannins focus the palate, and provide a lingering finish of soft spice and red fruit. It is deliciously approachable now, but will continue to reward through 2022. Pair it with all your favorite vegetarian dishes, Boeuf Bourgogne, wild game, Peking duck and smoked salmon. This is elegance in a glass!
