A single vineyard wine, from low-yielding vines located in the cool climate and fertile soils of the Salinas River Valley, this vintage is a classic expression of the rugged Arroyo Seco terroir. Its exposure to harsh, marine-influenced climatic conditions creates a long growing season, which enables the complex flavors of this “old world" Northern Rhône varietal to develop. Great care was taken to extract its natural, deep color and rich tannins through a slow and delicate fermentation, and we used a combination of French & American oak barrels (66% new) for aging, resulting in a powerful concentration of fruit flavors, juicy acidity and explosive aromatics. The nose opens to an expansive spice-accented bouquet of dark fruit, the palate delivers a suave blend of power and vivacity, and the supple tannins give shape and clarity to its long, vibrant and elegant finish. Its combination of lush fruit and earthy tones will pair beautifully with all of your warm weather barbecue fare. Enjoy now through 2025.
