Nuanced and tinged with cigar box notes and exotic spices of cardamon and white pepper, this vibrant full-bodied Zinfandel is bursting with flavors of raspberry compote, blackberry, candied ginger and hints of shaved coconut. It was aged in American oak (45% new barrels) for 24-months to enhance its complex “old vine” characteristics. Balanced tannins dance across the palate, and the fruit intensity, moderate acidity and succulent texture make it an ideal companion to rich duck breast, grilled vegetables, wood fired pizza, curried dishes, barbecue fare or chocolate cake. It is deliciously approachable now, but will further reward those patient enough to cellar it through 2023. Belli-citti-ssimo!
