GOLD MEDAL – California State Fair
(Best of Class)
SILVER MEDAL – El Dorado County Fair
A classic representation of the local terroir, Vino di Vicino translates
from Italian to Wine of the Neighborhood in English. This
is a blend of three distinct Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyards. Barrel-aged
for over 2-years in 75% French Oak (50% new), it was awarded 94
points and voted Best of Class - Greater Bay Area Appellation
at the 2008 California State Fair. Expect beautiful flavors of dark fruit,
cassis, black licorice, tobacco and white pepper with a lingering finish
and elegant mid-palate. This is the wine to pull out with a BBQ’d
ribeye steak or braised short ribs. It is very drinkable now, but
the strong acid and silky tannins will allow it to age for the next 10
or more years.
